Ansteel starts overhaul on 2,580 cu m BF in Anshan base

Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Ansteel), the Shenzhen-listed arm of China's second-largest steelmaker Ansteel Group, has initiated a green and low-carbon overhaul project on the No. 4 blast furnace (BF) at its main ironmaking plant in Anshan city, Northeast China's Liaoning province, according to an announcement published on the website of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Liaoning province on August 10.

The No. 4 furnace sits at Ansteel's main ironmaking plant in Anshan where seven other large BFs are currently in service and producing hot metal, Mysteel Global notes. The overhaul on the 2,580 cu m No. 4 BF will be carried out through 1:1 capacity replacement, with the new BF
