Indonesian thermal coal HBA prices mixed for H2 August

Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has set mixed Harga Batubara Acuan (HBA) thermal coal reference prices for the second half of August, with the flagship high-CV grade easing for a second consecutive session, while mid- and low-CV grades posted further gains, according to the latest release dated August 15.

The ESDM set the HBA for 6,322 kcal/kg GAR coal – the benchmark high-CV grade – at $124.06/tonne for H2 August, down 0.3% from $124.44/t in H1 August. While the decline marks the second straight reduction for the grade, the pace of decline has slowed significantly from the 5.6% drop
