On August 18, Huayou Cobalt released its semi-annual report for 2026. For H1 2026, the company achieved operating revenue of Yuan 55.568 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 49.39%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was Yuan 3.507 billion, up 29.38% YoY. Basic earnings per share stood at Yuan 1.86.
During the reporting period, energy metals such as nickel, cobalt, and lithium were influenced by a combination of factors, including global supply-demand structural realignments, policy changes in major producing regions, and cost fluctuations along the industrial chain. As a result, their price benchmarks shifted upward overall and exhibited wide-ranging, volatile movements.
In H1, cobalt product shipments reached 15,800 tonnes, a decrease of approximately 24% year-on-year, primarily attributable to the downturn in demand from the consumer electronics sector.
