China BPA supply tightens in August as OilChem reports ~1.8 million t/y offline or under maintenance, with two units' restart pending and one unplanned shutdown. This follows a 7.14% year-on-year drop in cumulative production loss (338.200kt) over Jan-Jul despite 480,000 t/y new capacity. Near-term tightness hinges on pending restart timing and new capacity ramp-up, while social inventories built in Apr-Jul on PC turnarounds and softer epoxy demand.
