China's power market trading leaps 23% YoY over January-July

China's power market traded 4,425.2 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in the first seven months of 2026, up 23.4% from a year earlier, with the marketized share of total power consumption still above the 70% target the State Council has set for 2030, Mysteel Global has learned.

The data, released by the National Energy Administration on August 27, extend the picture beyond the first-half figures published in late July.
