Russia's coal output hits intra-year low in July

Russia's output of coal for all uses stood at 32.7 million tonnes in July, marking the lowest monthly level so far this year, according to the latest data from the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat).

Last month's intra-year low also represented a 6.3% drop from the June level, although it was still 2.5% higher than the 31.5 million tonnes recorded in July 2025 that ended up being Russia's lowest monthly coal output of the year, the Rosstat data show. In fact, June-August often marks the
