Thailand's coal imports fall sharply in July, erasing June's record gains

Thailand imported 1.21 million tonnes of coal in July, down 51.3% from June's record 2.49 million tonnes and 20.7% below the same month a year earlier, according to Thai Customs data compiled by Mysteel Global.

Thermal coal made up 1.2 million tonnes of the July total, down 21.2% on year and 50.7% on month, while the balance consisted of anthracite (5,545 tonnes) and briquettes (1,908 tonnes). The slump in imports suggests June's surge was a one-off stock-building spike rather than a lasting shift toward
