On September 16, Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Panasonic Group, announced the launch of a new lithium-ion battery R&D facility, "Energy Innovation Square," in Kadoma, Osaka Prefecture. The facility will serve as the company's global battery R&D and production center, covering material development, battery cell design, and prototyping. Panasonic Energy stated that Energy Innovation Square will collaborate with its Suminoe Production Development Center in Osaka to accelerate the development and mass production of next-generation batteries for automobiles and data centers, and to roll out the related technologies and manufacturing processes to its plants in Japan and in Nevada and Kansas in the United States.
