NBS: Crude steel output in key China hubs slips 3% YoY over Jan-Aug

Crude steel production among China's top 10 steelmaking provinces and autonomous regions totaled 4.68 million tonnes over January-August, posting a faster on-year fall of 3% as against the decrease of 2.7% for the first seven months, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on September 18.

The faster decline was mainly attributed to the further on-year fall in August. During last month alone, production of crude steel among the top 10 steel hubs had declined to reach 52.09 million tonnes, slipping by 3.5% compared with the same month last year, the NBS statistics showed. The result
