NBS: China's Jan-Aug output of major white goods mixed

China's production of the four major home appliances during this year’s January-August period saw output of refrigerators and washing machines increase on year, while that of air-conditioners and televisions slid from the same period last year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Among the four white goods, production of refrigerators posted the biggest on-year gain, with the volume jumping 11.6% to 77.52 million units over January-August. In contrast, production of televisions shrank by 7.1% on year to 110.42 million units during the eight months, the NBS data showed.
