WSA: Global crude steel output slips on year over Jan-Aug

Crude steel production among the 70 countries and regions surveyed by the World Steel Association (WSA) totaled 1.23 billion tonnes during January-August this year, edging down by 0.7% from the same period last year, according to the association's latest release.

During August alone, global crude steel output registered 144.2 million tonnes, dropping by 1.2% on year and by a larger 3.4% from July, Mysteel Global calculated based on WSA survey results.
