On September 28, Xuzhou Xinrui Lithium Battery's 400,000-tonne lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project officially commenced construction in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. This marks another major layout by GCL Group to cultivate new engines and build new advantages in the new energy sector, and it will inject strong momentum into the development of Xuzhou's green and low-carbon energy industry.
It is understood that the project involves a total investment of up to Yuan 4 billion. It is located within the premises of Jiangsu GCL Silicon Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. Construction will be carried out by leasing existing factory buildings and some utility and auxiliary facilities, without adding new industrial land.
The project will involve expansion, upgrading, and renovation of the leased factory buildings, and the purchase of core production equipment such as drying towers, hot blast stoves, specialized kilns, crushers, and classifiers. Upon completion, it will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes of (LFP) cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
