NMDC's iron ore output in September jumps 8%

National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC), India's largest state-owned iron ore producer, produced 4.04 million tonnes of iron ore in September, higher by a marked 7.7% from the same month last year, the company's latest monthly production and sales report showed.

The strong on-year growth was mainly attributed to the miner's operations in the state of Karnataka, where it churned out 1.54 million tonnes of iron ore last month, higher by a significant 22.2% on year. Production in Chhattisgarh also increased, albeit by a small 0.4% from the same month
