FLASH: Qinghai 1 GW PV-CSP project connects

A 1 GW hybrid solar project in Qinghai has been connected, combining 900 MW of PV with a 100 MW tower concentrated solar plant using molten-salt thermal storage, according to project reports. The CSP section allows output to continue after sunset and supports peak-demand supply. The project is a large-scale test of PV plus long-duration thermal storage in China.
