NEA: China's coal-fired generation falls in Q3 as solar capacity takes the lead

Coal-fired power generation in China fell on-year during each month over July-September quarter, easing by 4% on year in July, 4.6% in August and 1.9% in September, the National Energy Administration (NEA) said on October 30. By the end of September, coal's share of the country's power output had slipped to 49.1% after dropping below 50.0% for the first time during H1, a decline that ran against record electricity demand, Mysteel Global notes.
