It's reported that Honda plans to invest approximately Yen 5 trillion in electrification and software over the next 10 years to accelerate the electrification process. Among them, approximately Yen 1 trillion was invested for new energy field and resource recycling. Honda announced its plan for second-hand hybrid and electric vehicle batteries in 2022, and its European division will collaborate with SNAM to collect and recycle batteries for secondary use or extraction of valuable elements. A Honda executive previously stated that Honda will start recycling waste lithium-ion batteries in 2025 and use them as raw materials to produce nickel cobalt alloys.
