MYSTEEL: China's hot metal output to dip to 2.4 mln t/d in July

The 247 Chinese steelmakers under Mysteel's survey are estimated to produce an average of 2.4 million tonnes/day of hot metal during July, down by 2% from that of June, as some blast-furnace (BF) mills may rein in their steel output this month on lower steel consumption, according to Mysteel's latest report.

Last month, BF mills across the country, including those in Northeast China's Liaoning, Hebei and Shanxi in North China, and East China's Jiangsu, actively resumed their steel production to enjoy the healthy steel margins, the report noted. Mysteel's tracking showed that as of June 29, about 64.1% of these 247
