WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments drop 9% WoW

The total shipments of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 19 ports and 16 mining companies in Australia and Brazil ended a four-week rise and retreated by a significant 2.4 million tonnes or 8.8% on week to 25.2 million tonnes during September 4-10, with the shipping volumes declining from both countries, according to Mysteel's latest survey.

During the survey period, Brazilian iron ore sent worldwide from the country's nine ports had dropped for the second straight week, slumping 2 million tonnes or 22.3% on week to hit 6.8 million tonnes. Among the total, the volume shipped from Vale also slipped by a large 674,000 tonnes
