MYSTEEL: China's FeSi output slips again in May

China's ferrosilicon (FeSi) output continued to move down in May, with the total volume down 25,345 tonnes or 5.8% on month to 414,795 tonnes, refreshing the lowest since May 2024, according to Mysteel's monthly survey among the 136 Chinese smelters under its regular tracking.

The sampled smelters host 90% of China's FeSi smelting capacity. On a daily basis, FeSi output among the sampled smelters averaged 13,380 tonnes/day last month, posting an on-month fall of 1,290 t/d or 8.8%, the survey results showed.
