Russia's Norilsk Nickel reports decline in key metal production in H1 2025

In the first half of 2025, Russia's leading metals and mining company Norilsk Nickel recorded a decrease in the output of key metals compared to the same period last year. Nickel production decreased by 4% to 87,000 tonnes, copper by 2% to 213,000 tonnes, palladium by 5% to 1.4 million ounces, platinum by 6% to 335,000 ounces.

As explained by the company's senior vice president Alexander Popov, the decrease in indicators is due to several factors: a high comparison base for 2024, the need to replenish of production which was unfinished in the process of debugging logistics chains, as well as a temporary decrease in ore
