The prices of cobalt sulfate were flat at 51,500-54,000/t on last Friday. Cobalt intermediates price remained firm, with most smelters reporting stable quotations. Meanwhile, the supply of older sources for cobalt sulfate was relatively tight, with mainstream prices reaching Yuan 52,000-54,000/t. However, downstream users only purchased on rigid demand and there were significant price discrepancies between buyers and sellers. Recently, Co3O4 producers based on cobalt sulfate have shown increased inquiry activity, but actual transactions remain mostly concentrated below Yuan 52,000/t. Against the backdrop of anticipated tightness in raw material supply, cobalt sulfate prices are expected to maintain an upward trend in the near future. However, the extent and pace of this increase will require time to materialize gradually.
