On June 10, the market price of electrolytic cobalt slumped Yuan 10,441/tonne to Yuan 397,591-400,909/tonne. In addition, the market prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride both declined Yuan 1,000/tonne to 89,000/t-93,000/t and 111,000-115,000/t respectively.As for the cobalt sulfate market, demand from downstream ternary precursor material manufacturers remained persistently weak, with low purchasing willingness limited to just-in-time inventory replenishment. Meanwhile, the market saw a continuous influx of low-priced materials from recycled sources and re-dissolved electrolytic cobalt, consistently exerting pressure on mainstream salt producer price offerings. Although upstream cobalt intermediates face tight supply due to logistics and export quota issues, providing some cost-side support, prices remain under pressure in the face of weak demand.
