WEEKLY: China's SiMn prices remain weak, output rises

China's silicomanganese (SiMn) prices remained weak over October 13-17, with the national price of 6517 SiMn under Mysteel's assessment reaching Yuan 5,639/tonne ($792/t) including the 13% VAT on October 17, down by Yuan 30/t from October 11, a workday in China to make up for the National Day holiday over October 1-8.

SiMn prices in the derivative market lost ground too. On October 17, the most-traded SiMn contract on the Zhengzhou Futures Exchange for delivery in January 2026 closed the daytime trading session at Yuan 5,718/t, lower by Yuan 42/t from the settlement price on October 10, according to the exchange's
