WEEKLY: China's EAF output drops, despite mini-mill losses shrinking

After the small increase recorded during the previous week, production among Chinese electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steel producers retreated again during November 14-20, the results of Mysteel's latest survey showed. Production among mini-mills declined amid waning steel demand nationwide, the data show.

During the survey week, the average capacity utilization rate among the 90 independent EAF steel producers under Mysteel's regular tracking dropped by 1.6 percentage points on week to 51.6%.
