WEEKLY: China's FeSi prices soften, output remains stable

Chinese ferrosilicon (FeSi) prices softened during December 31-January 6, with the spot price of 75% FeSi under Mysteel's assessment sitting at Yuan 5,311/tonne ($760/t) including the 13% VAT on January 6, lower by Yuan 19/t from one week earlier.

Production has remained stable overall, however. Mysteel's latest weekly survey showed that over December 26-January 1, daily FeSi output among the 136 independent smelters nationwide under its tracking averaged 14,135 tonnes/day, edging up 70 t/d on week and ending the steady fall witnessed during the prior three weeks.
