WEEKLY: Chinese EAF mills' output rises to 4-month high

Steel production among China's electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers rose for the second straight week during January 2-8 as more mills restarted operations after maintenance shutdowns, the results of Mysteel's survey showed.
During the latest survey period, the average capacity utilization rate among the 90 independent EAF steel producers under Mysteel's regular tracking increased by 1.8 percentage points on week to reach 56.9%, the highest level since last August, while their average operational rate also grew by 4.3 percentage points from
