On January 14, the price of electrolytic cobalt moved down Yuan 1,500/tonne to Yuan 451,182-453,500/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and chloride remained both remained unchanged at Yuan 94,500/t-97,500/t and 114,000-118,000/t respectively.Cobalt sulfate production was under significant pressure, with smelters offering high quotations and new shipments generally priced above Yuan 95,000/t. Due to the seasonal low-demand period, downstream sectors generally showed weak willingness to stock up, focusing primarily on inventory digestion. However, it is reported recently that downstream buyers have made inquiries for thousand-tonne-level procurement at around Yuan 96,000/t, while small-batch chemical orders have been settled at Yuan 97,000-98,000/t.
