WEEKLY: Chinese BF mills' production retreats slightly

After rising for five weeks straight, hot metal production among Chinese blast furnace (BF) steelmakers pulled back slightly during April 17-23, as some mills in North China were observing government-mandated production curbs, Mysteel's survey showed.
Over the latest survey period, the average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking stood at 89.7%, lower by 0.1 percentage point from the previous week, with the combined hot metal production edging down by 0.1% on week to 2.39 million tonnes/day.     During the same period,
