WEEKLY: Chinese BF mills' production falls for 2nd week

Hot metal production among Chinese blast-furnace (BF) steelmakers declined for a second straight week during April 24-30, as more mills halted operations for maintenance, Mysteel's survey showed.

During the latest survey period, the average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers fell to 89.6%, down 0.2 percentage point from the previous week, while combined hot metal output also slipped 0.2% on week to 2.39 million tonnes/day.
