On May 13, the market price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 1,000/tonne to Yuan 423,355-426,409/tonne. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride remained stable at Yuan 93,000/t-96,000/t and 113,000-118,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream cobalt sulfate smelters showed a clear intention to hold prices firm. However, downstream manufacturers exhibited strong resistance to price increases, while quotations from small and medium-sized plants remained stable. Amid limited restocking by ternary precursor producers, mainstream transaction prices were maintained at around Yuan 90,000/tonne, while procurement by other downstream sectors was concluded at approximately Yuan 94,000/tonne. As for cobalt chloride, transaction prices remained stable at around Yuan 115,000/tonne.
