DAILY: China's thermal coal prices stall, yet sentiment remains bright

China's spot thermal coal market remained stable on May 13, with buyers staying on the sidelines and sellers withholding offers amid firm sentiment, keeping liquidity thin, sources said.

On Wednesday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg, 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 835/tonne ($123/t), Yuan 748/t, and Yuan 651/t, respectively, on a FOB northern ports basis with VAT, all unchanged from Tuesday.
