DAILY: China's coking coal prices extend gains, yet uncertainty intensifies

China's coking coal prices continued to edge higher on May 13. However, more market participants had turned cautious on the near-term outlook, citing emerging downside risks.

Mysteel's assessment of China's national composite coking coal price extended its uptrend on Wednesday, higher by another Yuan 3.2/tonne ($0.5/t) on day to settle at Yuan 1,366.8/t including the 13% VAT. Mysteel's tracking showed that 13 miners in Shanxi province, the country's largest coal-mining hub, raised their coking coal prices
