Boosted by optimistic U.S. soybean export prospects, CBOT soybean futures extended their rebound on Wednesday, reaching near two-week highs, while soybean meal closed flat and soybean oil continued its sharp decline. The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed on Wednesday that private exporters reported sales of 372,000 tonnes of soybeans to unknown destinations, including 60,000 tonnes of old-crop and the remainder as new-crop. The USDA is set to release its Prospective Plantings report on June 30, with S&P Global Energy estimating 2026 U.S. soybean plantings at 85.3 million acres, above the USDA's March 31 estimate of 84.7 million acres. Brazil has completed its soybean harvest, and the market is currently absorbing pressure from Brazil's record-breaking production. With expectations of a bumper U.S. crop compounded by strong South American harvests, the global soybean supply landscape is poised to become even more ample.
