Offers for Ni:0.9% low-alumina ore stood at US $39/wmt, Ni:1.3% at US $50/wmt, and Ni:1.4% at US $58/wmt. In the Indonesian domestic market, nickel ore prices also held steady, with Ni:1.2% Mc40% ore CIF market prices in the range of US $28-33/wmt.On the NPI front, available market resources remained tight, and holders had strong confidence in holding firm on prices. Continued tightening of supply supported firm NPI offers. On the demand side, steel mill inquiries were quiet, and stainless steel futures traded in a high-level range, making mills cautious in raw material procurement. In addition, scrap stainless steel offered a clear cost advantage, and mainstream Chinese steel mills had increased their use of scrap, creating a substitution effect for NPI. Looking ahead, the NPI market is expected to continue its divergent pattern between high and low grades.
