WEEKLY: Chinese BF mills' production rises for 4th week

Production among China's blast-furnace (BF) steelmakers continued to rise in the past week despite persistently thinning profit margins these mills incurred, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

During June 26-July 2, the average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking climbed for the fourth straight week, up another 0.2 percentage point to 91.3%, while their combined daily hot metal output also increased by 0.1% on week to 2.43 million tonnes.
