According to Mysteel, Philippine lateritic nickel ore CIF China prices held steady on July 6. CIF China Lianyungang offers for Ni:0.9% stood at US $38/wmt, and Ni:1.3% at US $49/wmt, both unchanged from the previous trading day. Indonesian nickel ore prices also held steady, with Ni:1.6% CIF at US $70.64/wmt, flat month-on-month. Indonesian nickel ore prices fell by about US $5/wmt in July, and domestic premiums had approached the floor.On the NPI front, available spot resources remained tight. Some Chinese steel mills had recently initiated tenders for August delivery, primarily through long-term contract procurement. With long-term contracts locking up supply, spot resources available for open-market transactions tightened further. High-grade resources commanded firm premium offers, while low-grade resources were sold at discounts, reflecting growing divergence in resource quality.
