On July 7, the market price of electrolytic cobalt rose Yuan 6,059/tonne to Yuan 384,500-388,182/tonne. Moreover, the market price of cobalt sulfate declined Yuan 1,000/tonne to Yuan 86,000/t-87,000/t, while that of cobalt chloride remained stable at Yuan 102,000-104,000/t respectively.Yesterday, cobalt chloride prices remained flat while cobalt sulfate prices edged lower, with both continuing the recent weak pattern. Weak downstream demand and thin trading were the main dampening factors. In the near term, the cobalt market is expected to maintain a volatile and weak consolidation.Trading in the cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride markets stayed subdued, with downstream players maintaining a strong wait-and-see attitude, and restocking demand has yet to materialize.
