WEEKLY: Chinese EAF mills' production falls for 4th week

Production among Chinese electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers decreased further during the past week as more mini-mills halted production for maintenance, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

During July 10-16, the average capacity utilization rate among the 94 independent EAF steel producers under Mysteel's tracking dropped for a fourth straight week by another 1.3 percentage points to reach 55.7%, while the operational rate among these mills also fell 1.8 percentage points on week to 69.1%. In the
