Production among Chinese blast furnace (BF) steelmakers continued to shrink during the past week, with the decrease being observed mainly in North China under the government-mandated output restrictions, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
Mysteel's tracking showed that the average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers during July 24-30 dropped for the fourth straight week, down by another 0.8 percentage point to reach a four-month low of 88.5%. Their combined daily hot metal output also fell by 0.9% on week to
