On August 28, the market price of electrolytic cobalt decreased Yaun 4,000/tonne to Yuan 301,591-304,091/tonne. In addition, the market prices of cobalt chloride and cobalt sulfate continued to be flat at Yuan 83,000-85,000/tonne and 68,000/t-70,000/tonne respectively.Last week, the cobalt salt market continued its weak trajectory, with the MHP cobalt payables dropping sharply and the previously supportive smelting cost floor showing signs of erosion. On the supply side, quotation ranges have become increasingly aligned. Spot trading of cobalt sulfate was scarce during the week, with only a very small number of off-market lots changing hands near the Yuan 70,000/tonne level. Negotiations over payables for new orders continued into the month-end. Cobalt chloride saw virtually no transactions, as demand-side weakness persisted, and sporadic small-volume purchases provided limited price support.
