DAILY: China's coking coal prices climb higher on bullish sentiment

Coking coal prices across China's key producing regions gained firmer upward momentum on September 1, bringing Mysteel's benchmark price to the highest level since early 2023.

On Tuesday, Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI), which tracks coking coal prices nationwide in China, stood at Yuan 2,200.7/tonne ($327.2/t) including the 13% VAT, up another Yuan 37.8/t from the previous session and reaching its highest since January 2023, according to Mysteel's assessment.
