DAILY: China's met coke market poised for a fourth hike, sentiment positive

China's metallurgical coke market held strong on September 2, with participants eyeing the fourth-round hike set to take effect today. Higher coal prices, constrained supply, and sustained steel-sector demand keep market sentiment buoyant.

Mysteel Coke Index (MCI) CDQ, which measures China's nationwide prices for dry-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke, was unchanged from the last session at Yuan 2,107.9/tonne ($313.71/t) on Wednesday. The MCI CWQ for wet-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke likewise held steady at Yuan 1,946.4/t. The coke market was still awaiting confirmation from major
