WEEKLY: Chinese BF mills' production recovers despite thin margins

After falling for two weeks straight, production among Chinese blast furnace (BF) steelmakers rebounded marginally over the past week, even though many mills were still struggling with heavy losses, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
The average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers Mysteel tracks nationwide edged up by 0.08 percentage point from the prior week to reach 88.92% during August 28-September 3, while their combined daily hot metal output increased slightly by 0.1% on week to 2.37 million tonnes/day.     During the same
