Egg prices are poised for a pullback as Mid-Autumn Festival stocking winds down

This week, the average price in China's main egg-producing areas reached Yuan5.04 /jin, up 0.80% week on week and up 49.11% year on year. Driven by both domestic sales stimulus and end-user stocking, egg prices rebounded at high levels. However, as Mid-Autumn Festival stocking gradually winds down, "fear of heights" sentiment in the market is beginning to heat up, and egg prices are expected to see a slight pullback next week.

From the supply side, the increase in newly laid flocks is currently steady. Affected by high egg prices and falling culled chicken prices, some farms are holding back on culling, but overall slaughter volumes are still increasing. According to Mysteel's data, China's laying hen inventory in August was about 1.274
