DAILY: Seaborne iron ore prices fall amid limited trading

Seaborne iron ore prices retreated further on Monday, September 14, with reduced trading activity. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines Index fell 1.15% or $1.10/dmt to $94.75/dmt, while the 62% Low Alumina Fines Index decreased 0.90% or $0.90/dmt to $99.55/dmt. Both indices are based on CFR Qingdao.

Primary market liquidity was robust. One parcel of October-arrival MACF was traded at a fixed price of $94.90/dmt on a 61.0% Fe basis, equivalent to a discount of around $0.80/dmt against the October index. Its floating price continued to move lower compared with previous deals. In addition, market participants
