DAILY: Seaborne iron ore index edge up with the moderate liquidity

Seaborne iron ore index rebounded slightly after falling to a relatively low point, but market activity was moderate on October 12th, 2026. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased $0.95/dmt to $90.55/dmt, while the corresponding 62% Low Alumina Fines index increased $0.70/dmt to $95.25/dmt. Both indices are based on CFR Qingdao.

The liquidity in the primary market remained moderate. On the platform, NHGF and IOCJ were concluded at a fixed price of $90.45dmt based on the 61% Fe and at a premium of $0.3/dmt against the November index, respectively. Another two PBF cargoes continued to adjust their offers but failed
