Masteel orders Danieli billet caster for special steel expansion

Ma’anshan Iron & Steel Company Limited (Masteel) has ordered a new continuous caster billet from the Italian plant supplier Danieli for its Ma’anshan works in East China’s Anhui province, as the Chinese steelmaker advances investment into higher value-added special steels, according to a recent Danieli announcement.

The new caster will be capable of casting high-quality round billets with diameters of 150-380mm for producing rounds of special and alloyed steel grades, including materials for premium seamless tube applications, Danieli said, adding that key components will be manufactured, assembled and tested at Danieli's facilities in China.
