DAILY: China portside thermal coal slides as utility bids lag trader offers

China's portside thermal coal fell for a third session on October 28, and faster than a day earlier, as utility tenders cleared below-trader offers and port stock drawdowns did little to prop up the market.

On Wednesday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 1,025/tonne ($153.7/t) FOB northern ports with VAT, down Yuan 6/t on day, taking the cumulative fall to Yuan 10/t since October 26. The 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grades each fell Yuan 5/t to Yuan 923/t and Yuan
