IEA: Global coal use to hit a new high in '22 amid energy crisis

The world's coal consumption is set to hit an all-time high in 2022 amid the energy crisis, though global demand for the fuel may only increase by a marginal 1.2% this year, surpassing 8 billion tonnes in a single year for the first time and eclipsing the previous record set in 2013, Mysteel Global learned from the latest annual coal market report released by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
