China's copper bar processing enterprises are more active in resuming production after the Spring Festival, according to Mysteel's survey of 22 brass bar producers in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Guangdong provinces, with an annual capacity of 1.635 million tonnes. 19 or 84.3% of enterprises have resumed production as of January 31, which is expected to fully resume in three days.

Compared with the same lunar period in 2022, 12 enterprises remained on the same resumption date in 2023, 3 enterprises later, while 7 enterprises resumed earlier. Mainly because the Spring Festival holiday came earlier this year, the resumption time is also earlier accordingly. Besides, some enterprises have to finish production as soon as possible for orders received before the Festival.
However, downstream demand is light and will come in the middle of February. Since most downstream firms would like to resume production after February 5 on high copper bar prices, according to Mysteel's survey.
